Yes, for teams & organizations you need an official bank account in order to create a Stripe Connect account and accept donations through the Crumb platform.  For individual campaigns, you can use a personal or business bank account to create a Stripe Connect account.

It is free for donors / supporters to use the Crumb fundraising & financial management platform.  We charge teams, organizations & causes fees only when donations are made through the platform:

ACH Fees – 0.8% • $5 cap (Applies to Crumb donations)

Credit Card Fees – 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction (Applies to Slice (one-time & recurring) donations)

Authentication Fees – we charge a one-time $1.99 fee to cover the costs of secure authentication and connection of each donor bank account. The fee is assessed and deducted at the end of the first month of a donor's Crumb donation cycle.  The fee is deducted after the donation is collected and before it is remitted to the team/organization, and only if a donor's first-month aggregate Crumb donation amount exceeds $1.99.

Crumb Transaction Fee:  10%  – since the platform is free to use, we take a transaction fee to cover our cost of doing business.  Compare this fee to traditional fundraising groups who keep 20 – 30% of fundraising proceeds!

Crumb batches out Crumb donation proceeds at the end of each month and corresponding ACH transfers to your account typically take 3 to 7 business days to process and clear, depending on the banking institution.

For Slice donations (one-time & monthly recurring via credit card), credit card settlements typically take 1 – 3 business days to process and clear.

Payments to your bank account will display from Crumb Transfer : Crumbraise.com.

Crumbs – you can connect a bank account or debit card and donate Crumbs – rounded up amounts – from your daily purchases.  See how it works here.

Slices – you can make one-time donations or set-up fixed monthly donations via credit card.

When you connect a bank account, our system rounds up your daily purchases to the nearest dollar.  For example, if you purchase a coffee for $3.56 using your debit card, we will round up your purchase to $4.00 and donate the difference of $0.44 to your team of choice.

Crumb, will only round-up point-of-sale and online purchase transactions made via Check / Debit card for connected checking accounts.  Crumb does not round up deposits, credits or refunds. If you would like to cap your monthly Crumb donations, you can do so in Support > Donation Center.

Crumb provides access to tens of thousands of banks via its partnership with Plaid.  In some cases, certain banking institutions or specific credit cards are not supported and prevent you from donating Crumbs.  If that happens, please email support@crumbraise.com and include the bank institution name and/or credit card provider and we'll investigate with Plaid.

In the meantime, you can donate one-time or set up monthly recurring donations via standard credit card submission in your Donation Center.

If you've connected multiple donation sources (checking account, debit card, credit card, etc.), each account's Crumbs will be tallied individually and deducted individually at the end of each month.  In the event you set a monthly Crumb donation cap, your capped amount will be funded equally across all connected donation source(s).

Currently, your monthly Crumb donation total will be distributed equally among the campaign(s) you support.  In the future, we will provide the ability to specify individual percentages of distribution, if desired.

Refunds are not available on Crumb.  Crumb is a payment conduit between donors and organizations.  Once you authorize a donation via your Crumb Donation Center, we merely facilitate the transaction.  If you would like to discuss a refund scenario, you can contact the organization directly.
